In 2010, Jesse Gooch founded Project HOPE (Helping Others Paint Exteriors) as a way to give back to the community that supported him and his business. After noticing many homes with deteriorating paint, Jesse wondered if it was due to neglect—or something deeper, like disability or financial hardship. That question inspired him to launch a city-wide annual event with full support from the mayor and city officials.
With 20–30 volunteers, the first project in 2011 repainted the home of a disabled Vietnam veteran. Since then, Painters Plus has donated over $125,000 in painting services to homeowners in need.
